Jennifer Creamer, PhD
Jennifer Creamer is a cultural anthropologist who has been involved in some aspect of international education for over 30 years with experiences studying abroad, teaching English, serving as resident director/translator for groups of visiting Japanese students, and working as director of international programs in the US.  Her university positions have included responsibility for education abroad advising and program development, international student immigration and academic advising, creation and delivery of orientations for outgoing study abroad students and incoming international students, and programming to enhance campus internationalization. She studied abroad in high school, college, and graduate school in Mexico and Japan, and worked and conducted research in Japan.  Creamer holds a doctorate in cultural anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she conducted qualitative research with Japanese women to explore their motivations to study in the U.S. and to discover the perceived impact of the experience on their lives once they returned to Japan.  Creamer’s enriching experiences living and studying abroad led her to pursue her career path as an applied anthropologist in international education, assisting others to venture abroad.
Jesse Phillips, MA
Manager, Immigration, Exchange,
and Study Abroad
Jesse joined the Center for Global Engagement in May, 2014. Prior to RMU, he worked as an International Student Adviser at Indiana University of Pennsylvania while completing his M.A. in Student Affairs in Higher Education. He also holds a M.A. in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University. He has studied abroad four times in Europe, and also interned for the Heinrich Boell Stiftung in Germany. He is passionate about exploring new places, engaging different cultures, and experiencing new cuisines. Jesse manages the international exchange and semester abroad opportunities at Robert Morris University along with immigration issues for our degree-seeking international students. When he's not at RMU he's probably camping or hiking.

Rick Moslen
Manager, International Support Services
Rick is a RMU graduate with a BA in both English and Communication. He served in a number of Academic Affairs and Financial Aid roles at various universities before joining the CGE in 2012. He also has academic-related and personal international travel experience in over 15 countries. Rick currently manages various aspects of international student life on campus including programming and counseling for all international students. He also manages RMU Faculty-Led Education Abroad programs and works with the International Rooney Scholar program.

Tabitha Savka, MS
Specialist, International Programs and Services
Tabitha graduated from RMU in 2011 with a Bachelors in Communication and in 2016 with a Master of Science in Higher Education. Tabitha is the counselor for all continuing International Students and works with them on personal, academic, and immigration matters. She also assists international students with scheduling and enrollment, and she issues letters and documentation for various student sponsors and government agencies. Tabitha also serves as the adviser for the Global Ambassador program and the coordinator of the Friendship Family Program.

Safiyyah Scott, MEd
Specialist, International Student Support and Immigration Services
Safiyyah primarily serves new and first year international students in the CGE. She holds a Master of Education degree with a focus on International Education from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree in English literature. She has lived and worked with international populations, domestically and abroad, and enjoys swapping stories with students, faculty, and staff! As the first point of contact, Safiyyah follows new students from the issuance of their immigration documents through their first semester and year at RMU.

Jessica Schrader, MA
Study Abroad Support Specialist
Jessica earned her M.A. in International Education Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and her B.A. in Globalization Studies and German from Gettysburg College. Her international experience includes two faculty-led programs, in northern Germany and in Madrid, Spain, as well as two semesters abroad: the first in Heidelberg, Germany and the second in Salamanca, Spain. She has also taught English to refugees in the Pittsburgh area and at a primary school in Madrid, Spain. In the CGE, she is responsible for advising students who wish to study abroad for a semester or during the summer and for managing the Global Village Living Learning Community.

Philip Hnatkovich, PhD
Global Support Specialist
Phil studied at West Virginia University (MA) and Penn State (PhD), where his research delved into histories of maritime trade, migrancy, and refugeeism. Those topics led him to rewarding work in port towns on both sides of the Atlantic. While completing his degrees, he taught courses ranging from the history of pre-modern Europe to fascism in the twentieth century; he currently serves as a Co-Director for MarineLives, an international nonprofit that delivers digital education programs in public history. Prior to RMU, Phil was a Communications Contributor for Bike Pittsburgh and has assisted city nonprofits advocating for more humane transportation and accessibility policies. For CGE, Phil works on matters related to Faculty-Led Study Abroad Programs.
