A wellness-oriented lifestyle encourages you to adopt habits and behaviors that promote better health and an improved quality of life. It also involves the recognition that you have physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs, with each dimension being necessary for optimal levels of functioning. RMU strives to promote healthy living habits, create educational opportunities, and fitness programming for Robert Morris University students, staff and faculty.
Student Recreation and Fitness Center
RMU's new Student Recreation and Fitness Center has two indoor intramural basketball courts, a fully-equipped weight room and cardio room, two rooms for Pilates and other exercise training, and men's and women's locker rooms, all for general student use. Outdoor sports courts are adjacent to this 45,000 square-foot building, located at the North Athletic Complex.
Yorktown Fitness Center is an expansive 3500 square foot space dedicated to cardiovascular, selectorized plate-loaded and free weight equipment. It features state of the rate precode treadmills, upright and recumbent bicycles, adaptive motion trainers, elliptical cross trainers and much more. There are even bikes that implement a virtual gaming experience into your workout. The Cardio-theater is available on televisions located throughout the fitness center"
Student Health and Wellness is located in the Jefferson Center, Student Health Services is RMU’s primary care office, paying special attention to the unique needs of young adults. Student Health Services is an excellent resource for RMU students.
Located in Patrick Henry, RMU’s Counseling Center provides crisis intervention and short-term counseling services to all enrolled students experiencing psychological problems or concerns. The Counseling Center fosters a supportive and welcoming campus environment while increasing awareness and reducing the stigma about mental health issues.
